Truck Hire Melbourne - The Budget
Personally, I am still annoyed with those silly Budget adverts.
A portrayal of an English speaking (only English speaking!) man mocking his French girlfriend about her accent is not really to my taste.
However, there is more to Budget than the bad adverts.
The company has a sophisticated fleet of cars, vans for hire and utes to suite any requirements.
You do not need to move houses to hire the truck.
Often, it is more cost effective to occasionally hire the truck rather than to actually buy one.
With Budget, Utes and Trays cost around $70 per day. This includes fees and taxes.

There is also an option to purchase insurance at the extra cost.

Europcar is one of the Asia Pacific region's largest car rental companies.

Larger commercial delivery truck rental will easily exceed $250 per day.
Both Europcar and the Budget have similar prices but the selection of vehicles is different.

Different length of vehicles and types (Europcar also offers tipper trucks) make Europcar a leader in its business.
However, be aware that not all Europcar location offer this comprehensive selection of vehicles.

Hertz is another leasing giant which operates in 140 countries.
In Australia they have businesses in four states and major metropolitan areas.

Although Europcar has some specialised vehicles, Hertz has a good selection of trucks for hire in Melbourne and other cities Australia-wide to suite removalists.

As with house moving, the truck rental does require some planning.
- Firstly, you need to decide on the volume (not the tonnage) of the truck being used. However, often it can be cheaper to make multiple trips rather than to hire an oversized vehicle. The insurance is also lower for smaller trucks for hire.
- Secondly, book your trucks for hire as early as possible. Remember, not only removalists are hiring trucks! Businesses such as couriers, furniture stores, etc are all potential customers. Thus, at around 10am-11am the place can start to be very busy.
- Make sure that your drivers license is compatible with the truck or van you hire. The leasing companies are not required to make necessary checks.
- Finally, inspect the truck you hire for all damages prior you sign the paper. Generally, car leasing companies do the checks with you. However, if you missed some scratches than you pay for them when truck is returned.
